8 Therefore you shall keep all the commandments which I command you today, that you may be strong and go in and possess the land which you go across [the Jordan] to possess, 9 And that you may live long in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give to them and to their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey. [Deuteronomy 11:8-9]
As image bearers of God, we are inherently built to perform. We are built to possess. To have dominion. To steward successfully. To rule + to reign.
That requires strength. Strength is a prerequisite to performance [see v.8]
Our desire to do, deliver, achieve + accomplish is an expression of who Jesus Christ is + how He lived.
Our underlying longing for strength, focus, drive, determination, competence, capability + proficiency express our God-given design.
Strength in performance is our birthright in Christ.
Strength is at the very heart of our successful leadership of self + others in the Holy Spirit.
As leaders who have been drafted into + commissioned in God's army, we should be fully dedicated to discovering + developing our Birthright Strength in Christ. As Ministers of Christ and Ambassadors of Love in these final days, we must be committed to an unwavering pursuit of strength.
34 Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work. [John 4:34]
We are created in the image and likeness of Christ Jesus who is the ultimate standard of performance.
Jesus always did exactly what He needed to do for the right person at the right time in the right way. He perfectly carried out the will of His Father and accomplished AND completely finished God's work.
Jesus Christ is the only Man to perfectly model 100% successful performance in all aspects of (self)leadership - all from a place of perfect rest in His Father's love + approval. This is our template.
11 And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. 12 His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ’s body (the church). [Ephesians 4:11-12]
As end-time Shepherd Leaders with an Ephesians 4:11-12 prophetic-apostolic anointing to fully equip + perfect the saints for their purpose of building up the Body of Christ, we have been called to make other believers strong - as WARRIOR SHEPHERDS!
